You can see at a glance that „Zum Marienbildchen“ in Lindenthal is a really traditional, cosy Cologne pub. At the entrance to the pub, in one of the oldest buildings in Lindenthal, there is a statue of the Virgin Mary. In former times a picture of the Madonna on the outside wall indicated that the house was a brewery, because Mary is the patron saint of landlords and guests.
The “Marienbildchen“ has a long tradition of providing enjoyable food and drink over the generations. This popular pub has existed here since 1870, fortunately surviving the Second World War unscathed. This is still the meeting place for young and old from the neighbourhood, the place where students meet up with their friends to have a chat, eat traditional Cologne food – and, of course, drink delicious REISSDORF KÖLSCH beer, fresh from the barrel. They still have that here, drawn from the traditional copper taps. It’s nice to know that some good things never change – “Cheers!” Let’s drink to good old traditions!
